How do I install the app on a desktop PC or Mac?
The installation process varies slightly depending on whether you're using a Windows PC or a Mac. However, all procedures have one thing in common: they adapt to the intuitive behavior of users and their devices. There's usually a subtle hint that installation is possible. A single tap is almost always all it takes to confirm the installation.
Although this functionality has been established by device and browser manufacturers, the process may still change and differ from the method described here.
First and foremost, your users need the address of your app. This can be obtained in various ways, such as via a QR code, a Facebook post, or as a search result on Google and other search engines.
To install the app, a modern browser such as Chrome, Firefox, or—in the future—the Chrome-based Microsoft Edge is required.
Installation on a Mac:
- Your users should have the address handy or click on a link that leads to your app.
- In the Chrome browser, a brief prompt will appear in the address bar with the word “Install” and a plus sign. Alternatively, within the app, you can select the “Install Now” menu option by tapping the three dots in the upper-right corner.
- Next, simply click to confirm, and the installation is complete. Afterward, the app can be found via the search function within macOS and pinned to the Dock.
Installation on a Windows PC:
- Your users should have the URL handy or click on a link that leads to your app.
- In the Chrome browser, a brief prompt will now appear in the address bar with the label “Install” and a plus sign. Alternatively, within the app, you can select the “Install Now” menu option by tapping the three dots in the upper-right corner.
- Next, simply click to confirm, and the installation is complete. Afterward, the app can be found within Windows using the search function and can also be pinned to the taskbar.
