Can I use a separate address / domain for my app?

Initially, while your app is unpublished, its URL will include the suffix "-vorschau"; once you publish it, you can choose any URL you like, as long as it ends with ".zur.app".

For anyone who wants a custom domain—including a custom extension such as ".app," ".de," etc.—for their mobile offering, the Premiumpackage is the minimum requirement.

Furthermore, you must own the respective domain name and also be able to configure a suitable IP address or a so-called CNAME record in the domain’s DNS settings. It’s best to contact the administrator of your desired domain directly regarding this. Suitable domains can be ordered from popular providers such as 1&1, OVH, or Domain Factory.

If you do not yet own the domain, we’d be happy to handle the registration and activation separately for you. Simply contact us via the live chat in the bottom-right corner of the App Management section.

  1. To activate the app via the new address, you simply need to set up the following settings as a DNS record:
"CNAME" entry (preferred) "A" record (alternative IP address)
live1-cproxy.exius.io 37.120.182.8

If a CNAME entry is not possible, you can alternatively enter the IP address directly. However, the CNAME entry is preferred.

Important! Any corresponding AAAA / IPv6 entries should also be removed without replacement.

  1. Finally, please let us know your desired domain address via the live chat in the bottom-right corner of the App Management section. With this information, we can then prepare all the technical requirements for setting up and maintaining data encryption to and within the app.

After the address is activated and changed, existing app users will be notified the next time they launch the app that it is now available at a different address. With a single click, they’ll be taken directly to the new address and can then reinstall the app. Search engines will also receive immediate notification of the redirect, so that search results on Google and other platforms are updated accordingly.
