News & Events - Inform and announce

Description:

If you have something to share, this module is here to help. Whether it’s general news, announcements, offers, or upcoming events—everything is compiled in this module and referred to as an “article.” Users of your app will see these articles in an attractive overview, sorted chronologically with the most recent article first.

Interested users can also receive immediate push notifications via PushPlus whenever new articles are published.

Usage:

All published articles are listed in the overview. In addition to the creation date, the article’s headline is also displayed. Unpublished articles are marked accordingly with a note.

The number of views for each article is displayed via the eye icon on the right-hand side.

Click the “Edit” or “Plus” button to open the actual editing dialog. In the upper section, enter the headline. Use the toolbar that appears to format the text.

If you want to embed images alongside the text, you can do so using the button shown on the right. Use this to select an image you’ve previously uploaded.

Optionally, you can set a date on which the article will automatically be hidden and will no longer be accessible to users. You can update, set, or remove this at any time, even after publication.

After the article is written, it is not yet available to the public. It is only released once the selected article is published by clicking the button of the same name. All participants and devices registered via PushPlus are then automatically notified. Publication can also be scheduled for a later time, so that, for example, multiple news items can be published automatically as part of a planned sequence.

The PushPlus feature mentioned at the beginning ensures that customers and prospects can be kept up to date on news upon request, even without regularly visiting your mobile app.

Sort entries individually rather than by most recent—by default, entries are sorted in descending order based on the most recently created and published articles. If you prefer custom sorting, you can enable this feature by checking this option. Once enabled, you can reorder the articles by selecting them with your input device.

Hide the creation date—The creation date is always displayed in the list view. If, for example, you want to set a schedule for news items, you can include the event date in the headline at the beginning. In this case, the additional date may be distracting and can therefore be hidden.

Display Only Headings Without Preview in Article Overview—When enabled, the overview displays only the full heading and, optionally, a background image for the article. The content preview is hidden.

Restrict push notification recipient group, as users must first grant permission - If you do not want to send a notification to all users immediately upon publication of an article, enabling this option ensures that, in addition to the regular permission to receive push notifications, users must also enable it again via the menu item in the upper right corner. For simplicity, this option should generally remain disabled.

For example, if you publish various news items on different topics, this option allows you to let users choose whether they want to be notified when a new article is published.

TIP! This allows you to create separate communication channels, for example, in PIN-protected submenus. Ideal for employee-only areas—when news is posted, only those users of your app who have access to that area are notified separately, not everyone.

Allow reactions such as “Like” or comments for logged-in users—enables users to interact with the content. Post comments and receive notifications about them (*). This enables a kind of social network within your own app. A higher-tier package is required for this, and user registration must be enabled.

(*) The ability to receive notifications via push and email for comments, replies, and new “Likes” will be available soon.

Recommendation:

When writing articles, make sure to use a concise headline. After all, this is the first thing your app’s users will read. It also serves as the first message in a push notification and should not be left blank.
