Live & real-time chat integration via external provider
Description:
To provide faster support to your users—for example, when they have questions or suggestions—integrate an external chat service directly. This allows for real-time communication at any time of day or night. It’s simple and free via Chatra.io. Alternatively, you can also integrate SuperChat.de or Chatwoot.
Setup:
Type of external chat provider – First, select the provider you want: Chatra, SuperChat, or Chatwoot.
Public key for chat access – To ensure the correct chat opens in the app, you must enter the respective key for the selected provider:
- Chatra: Public API Key (e.g., under “General / Preferences” → “Public Key”)
- SuperChat: Integration Key
- Chatwoot: Website Token
Depending on the provider, the saved keys can be used simultaneously in multiple apps as well as on your own website.
Base URL (Chatwoot only) – For Chatwoot, you must also enter the base URL of the Chatwoot server (e.g., https://app.chatwoot.com or your own self-hosted domain).
Start chat only via menu item (Chatra only) – Normally, when a chat is active, an icon for opening the chat is displayed within the app, regardless of which menu item you’re currently viewing. By enabling the toggle, the chat can then only be opened by clicking the menu item or via the submenu in the top-right corner of the main menu. This way, it may no longer be a distraction for users who rarely use the chat.
Tip:
If the chat menu item in the main menu is distracting, it can be moved or hidden at any time without affecting the functionality. However, removing the feature will disable the in-app chat.
