News & Events - Inform and announce
Description:
If you have something to share, this module will help you. Whether it's general news, ideas, offers or upcoming events - everything is summarized in this module as an article. Users of your app are shown these articles in an appealing overview in chronological order according to the most recent article.
Interested parties can also receive an immediate push notification via PushPlus when new articles are published.
Handling:
All articles written are listed in the overview. In addition to the date of creation, the title of the article is also listed. Unpublished articles are marked accordingly with a note.
The number of articles viewed can be seen via the eye symbol on the right-hand side.
The "Edit" or "Plus" button takes you to the actual editing dialog. Define the heading in the upper area. The toolbar that appears can be used to visually refine the stored text.
If images are to be embedded alongside the text, this is done using the button shown on the right. Use it to select a previously uploaded image.
Optionally, you can set a date on which the article is automatically made invisible and can no longer be accessed by users. You can update, set or remove this at any time after publication.
After the article has been written, it is not yet available to the public. Only when the marked article is published by clicking the button of the same name is it released. All participants and devices registered via PushPlus are then automatically informed. The publication can also be scheduled with a time delay, so that, for example, several news items can be published automatically in a planned sequence.
The PushPlus function mentioned at the beginning ensures that customers and interested parties are kept up to date with news even if they do not regularly visit your mobile app.
Sort entries individually and do not display them according to the most recent - Normally, entries are sorted in descending order according to the most recently created and released article. If you want an individual sorting, this can be implemented by activating this item. Once activated, you can then move the respective items by selecting them with the input device.
Hide date of creation - The date of creation is always displayed in the list view. If you want to set a schedule for news, for example, you can place the date of the event in the heading at the beginning. In this case, the additional date may appear disruptive and can therefore be hidden.
Only display headings without preview in article overview - By activating this option, only the full heading and optionally a background image of the article are displayed in the overview. The content preview is hidden.
Restrict push recipient group, as users must allow receipt beforehand - If you do not want to send notifications to all users as soon as an article is published, activating this option means that, in addition to the regular permission to receive push notifications, the user must activate it again in the menu item at the top right. To simplify matters, the option should remain deactivated.
For example, if you have different news with varying topics, you can use this option to give users the choice of being informed when a new article is published.
TIP! This allows you to create separate communication channels in PIN-protected submenus, for example. Ideal for employee areas - only those users of your app who have access to this area are informed separately when there is news, not everyone.
Allow reactions such as "Like" or comments for logged-in users - Allows users to interact with the content. Post comments and be informed about them (*). This allows a kind of social network within your own app. This requires a higher-value package and user registration must be activated.
(*) The activation of notifications for comments, replies and new likes via push and e-mail is coming soon.
Recommendation:
When writing articles, pay attention to a concise headline. After all, this is what the user of your app reads first. This is also the first message in a push notification and should not be left blank.
