Click here for part one:Successful App Creation. Once you’ve decided to create an app, many questions may arise at the beginning. Suddenly, you’re faced with 16 building blocks, and the app design process begins. But where do you start?

Do I have to include all 16 menu items? The app has to be perfect, but then publishing it will take forever, right? Don’t worry—we’ll help you with tips and examples and show you how to design your app in three simple steps so it’s ready for release.

1. Set Priorities

Of course, you don’t have to useall the building blocks—certainly not right away. Your customers are waiting, since ideally you’ve already informed them that an app is coming soon. That’s why you need to move fast. But it still needs to be high-quality. A system that uses building blocks is ideal for creating a high-quality app in a short amount of time. You just need to figure out which building blocks you absolutely need to get started. What is the main function your app should fulfill? Should it keep your customers up to date? Then integrate the News building block, the RSS Feed, and the Social Media building block. Should your customers be able to shop via the app or make appointments? Then start by integratingthe Shopor the Appointment feature. Do you want to use the app for mobile advertising? Then it’s best to also activatePushPlusand use the mobilecoupon. We provide a concrete example further down in this article.

Tip: When setting up your app, don’tforget to include your business address if you own a restaurant or brick-and-mortar store. The built-inmap featurewill then guide your customers and prospects directly to your location.

2. Design the app

When setting up your modules, choose subtle colors that match your company’s brand colors so as not to distract users from the content or products. Also remember to include your logo—after all, the app is meant to promote your brand. Don’t overload the app. Keep the design simple and clear so that users can navigate it quickly and aren’t overwhelmed by flashy elements. The new, intuitiveeditor makesdesigningeasierfor you. Additionally, all new apps feature a modern and cleanflat design. This new design helps you create an app that’s as efficient and user-friendly as possible. When creating an “About Us” page, keep the text concise. Don’t get lost in details—usability, clarity, and functionality must always remain the focus.

Tip:  If you also want to use your app as a mobile website, enable Smart Redirect. Prospective customers who find you via their smartphone will then be redirected directly to your app’s content, ensuring your offering is displayed optimally.

3. Publication and Everything Else

That’s it! You can now publish the app andmake it available in the Play Store and App Store. You can simply set up additional features one by one as you have time. Activation is quick, and you can use every newly set-up feature to remind your customers about your app and your business. For example, by posting on Facebook. If you have any questions, our friendly customer support team will be happy to help, and you’ll also find regular new tips and information about the modules and your app right here on our blog.

Here is a concrete example for a restaurant app:

We recommend setting up the Shop module, which will then serve as your menu. There, you also have the option to integrate an ordering feature. Additionally, create an “About Us” page, list your hours of operation, and include a contact form with your address. Once everything is set up, you can publish the app. Later, you can integrate additional modules, such as the appointment feature, which can be used for table reservations.

Have fun creating your app! Feel free to share your experiences with us—we’d love to hear from you!
