From magical real-time updates to revamped interfaces and discontinued Windows Phones
Hello, dear readers,
Even businesses that appear to be traditional can benefit by turning their app into a digital touchpoint. In ourlatest blog post, you’ll learn how to make the most of your app to easily digitize your business and build lasting customer loyalty.
In addition to the summer greetings we’re sending your way today, we’d like to inform you about the following important updates we’ve made to your app.
All modules in a fresh, clear new look.
We are currently working hard to modernize the admin areas of the individual modules. The recently refreshed News module already shows what will soon be possible in your app. Next up is a refresh of the Shop module: The user interface will be more intuitive, allowing you to make changes even faster.
Real-time content updates
Changes you make in your app are now distributed in real time to all devices and running apps. This unique feature offers you significant advantages:
- Users can now always use your app in its latest version immediately and without restarting, even if it’s currently open
- While you edit your app’s content on a PC or Mac, you can now view and experience the changes you’ve made directly on your smartphone—the static preview in the admin area is a thing of the past
This lays the groundwork for many new features in the future. Give it a try—we look forward to your feedback!
Support for Windows Phone is being phased out.
Microsoft recently decided to significantly scale back development efforts for Windows Phone and Windows Mobile. Major providers such as Amazon, PayPal, and even Microsoft’s own Skype have therefore already announced that they will no longer actively develop their own apps for these platforms or will remove them from the Phone Store.
Based on these facts, the current prevalence of Windows apps among our users, and the low usage on our app page, we have decided to discontinue support for the Windows Phone Store 8.0 / 8.1 in the medium term.
This will allow us to accelerate the further development of the two dominant mobile platforms. Your users on iOS and Android will thus benefit from significant future added value.
But don’t worry: All Windows Phone apps will remain available for now. We will inform affected users in a timely manner about the next steps.
Last but not least…
Enjoy the summer with your family and stay in touch with us!
We are, of course, still happy to assist you with any questions or requests.
We look forward to hearing from you!
