The digital revolution is here—and now it’s coming to your app…
Hello, dear readers,
The digital revolution is finally here.
Modern technology like smartphones and tablets has forever changed how we get information and how we buy things.
Today, customers first look for solutions on the mobile internet. Research shows that they do this in every conceivable situation.
This usually happens on impulse during so-called “micro-moments,” which occur among smartphone users of all ages and interests, at any time of day or night.
How and why does this affect my app?
Thanks to Google’s increasing integration of search results with apps listed in the App Store and Google Play, your potential customers and fans may also find your app there.
Reason enough, then, to periodically review the presentation of your own products and services within your app to ensure they are easy to understand and offer direct contact or ordering options.
To help you present and expand your mobile offering with additional value-added features, we’ve introduced a few small updates over the past few months. Here’s our list of highlights
News and Events – Optimize the group of push notification recipients through separate delivery settings.
Create sections for news where users can opt in or out of receiving push notifications as desired. Ideal, for example, for closed menu sections to keep small groups of people informed about news via the same app.
Loyalty Card – Live, Digital, and in Color?
Do you have a local business with a returning customer base? Do you have regular customers and a fan base? Why not simply offer them a loyalty card? Directly and digitally right from the app. Do your part for the environment, save paper, and promote the spread of your own app at the same time.More in the blog post
Videos – Play relevant content not only from YouTube but also from the Vimeo video network.
Anyone who integrates YouTube videos into their own app has likely encountered ads after the video finishes playing. If those ads are for a competitor, the fun stops there. Now, if needed, embed uploaded videos, playlists, favorites, etc., from Vimeo. Save yourself and your users from inappropriate third-party ads.
Image Gallery – Refreshed with a swipe effect and captions
With the existing modernized image gallery, you can now access additional layouts and add captions to each image. Managing images is also much, much easier. Give it a try and let your images dance at your fingertips.
Mobile Shop – With Base Prices and Large Images
Your integrated shops now allow you to specify base prices including units. Calculation based on the specified quantity is also automatic. If desired, potential customers must now accept separately stored terms and conditions. Prepayment is now also available as a payment method. Your items are displayed with larger images, and pricing information is much clearer. Availability depends on the selected app package.
Last but not least… Why you should consider re-releasing your app.
A re-release integrates updated screenshots, a revised description, and other new technical improvements.
This will allow your app to once again perform at its full potential on older Android 4.0–4.4 devices, improve offline caching, and, in the future, receive push notifications with integrated images or promotional areas. There are also other interesting features, but we’d like to tell you more about those in the near future.
Once an updated version is available in the app stores, these features will be ready to use immediately upon release. You can start the update under the “App Stores & Co.” tab.
