General settings for imprint, app address and tablet support

Description:

In the Basic Settings, you’ll find important settings for your company app. In addition to the app’s title, you’ll specify the app’s web address, which will make it accessible worldwide.

You should pay special attention to the "Legal Notice Information" section. If you want your app to send SMS messages to your customers and fans, you can also enable this feature here.

Usage:

App Title - In addition to the app’s visual appearance, which is represented by a custom icon, the name of your app also plays an important role. Here, you set the title of your app. This title will then appear below the icon on the customer’s home screen and at the top of the title bar in the main menu within the app. We generally recommend using your company’s name here.

Your App’s Web Address—The mobile app you’ve created is a mini-website built using modern web technologies. For your customers and fans to use the app successfully, they simply need to know the address entered here and type it into their phone’s browser.

Choose an address that’s as easy to remember as possible. After your app is created, a suitable address based on your company name will be provided. The address usually ends with “.zur.app.” This is a so-called top-level domain name, which we generally make available to all our customers.

This approach makes it easier for you to get started. Upon separate request, we can also migrate your app to a domain name provided by you.

Note! Once you’ve shared the address with a larger customer base, you should not change this field, as your customers will no longer be able to access the app.

Legal Notice or "About Us" Information – Since your mobile app is a website, the Telemedia Act requires that you include a provider identification on this website.

Use the “Edit Text” button to enter the required information. Try to keep it brief and make sure not to omit anything essential.

Enable App on Tablet PCs – Activate this button to support your app on current tablets. Depending on the package you’ve selected, this feature is disabled by default. If it’s disabled, tablet users will only be directed to your standard promotional and landing page for the app.

Generate the displayed QR code in black (including a colored logo) instead of in color—The QR code for the app is normally generated in color so that it stands out more. However, a few scanner apps may have difficulty scanning the codes. If this is the case, you can force the generation of a black-and-white code by enabling this option.

App on large screens on desktop PCs or Macs—When enabled, the app becomes accessible and can run on standard desktop PCs and Macs via modern browsers. In addition to installing it as a native application, users can also receive push notifications.

PushPlus for smart push notifications (depending on the selected package) — By enabling this feature, you allow direct and fast push notifications to be delivered to your users’ mobile devices. However, to do this, your users must first have downloaded your app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, or alternatively, launched it as a web app in a modern browser.

Allow users to log in or personalize their experience within the app—By enabling this feature, users can log in within the app using their email address and thus create a personal user profile. This is done entirely without a password. Individual modules will thus enable the storage of settings or separate access controls in the future, such as for protected submenus.

Default language within the app and user emails—This setting allows you to specify the default language in the app. You should select the language most commonly used by your users. Emails and push notifications sent to users will also be based on this setting.

Enable multilingual support and automatic language selection: (Feature still in development!) Once enabled, the app can be used in multiple languages simultaneously. Depending on the user, the app automatically switches to the appropriate system language and displays content in the corresponding language within the menu items.

Search engine visibility on Google, Bing, Facebook, etc. — Visibility on popular search engines is determined based on the selected setting. If you do not want the content to appear on Google and other search engines, select “Hide Content.” Depending on the changed setting, it may take several days to weeks for the change to take effect in the search engines’ indexes.
