Conference Room - With video, audio, chat, screen sharing, and livestreaming

Description:

Connect directly with your users via a video conference room right from within your app. In addition to video and audio, you can also use a chat feature if desired. Sharing your screen makes it easy to give presentations.

In addition to sharing via a YouTube livestream, this module can also be placed in a protected submenu to restrict access to a specific user group.

The feature is based on the well-known, free Jitsi video service and easily supports 20 or more simultaneous participants.

Usage:

Restricted user group—The conference can be further secured or restricted using a PIN or specific users. The PIN is the same for all users and can be changed at any time in the admin panel. Users only need to enter it once within the app, after which it is stored there and will only be requested again if changed. Using the user-based restriction, you can explicitly specify which users are granted access.

Required short PIN—Select a numeric PIN of any length.

Help text to facilitate PIN entry—Optionally, you can provide a note that appears before entry and informs the user where they can, for example, request or apply for the PIN.

Logged-in users granted access—Specify users here individually by their registered email addresses. Confirm each entry to save it. Users who have not yet been created can also be specified here.

Operation During Use:

Using the app during a conference is generally very intuitive and self-explanatory for most users right away. In addition to the camera, microphone, and chat options located at the bottom of the screen, a user can end the conference at any time by clicking the red button in the top-right corner.

Depending on the device used, screen sharing may be available. In the current version, this is usually permitted from within the app on desktop systems.

Tip:

  1. If you want to restrict your user group, simply move the menu item to a protected submenu or select and configure the “Restricted User Group” option.
  2. By hiding the menu item, you generally disable access to the conference rooms that are available at any time.
