Part two of our App-solutely child’s play series: how to set up your app as quickly as possible, so that your customers can use it straight away and in high quality. Here is the first part: Creating a successful app. Once you have decided to create an app, lots of questions can come up at first. Suddenly you are faced with 16 modules, and the process of designing the app begins. But where to start?
Do I have to include all 16 menu items? The app should be perfect – so publishing it will take forever, won’t it? Don’t worry: we help you with tips and examples and show you how to design your app in three simple steps so that it is ready to publish.
1. Set priorities
Of course you don’t have to use all the modules, and certainly not straight away. Your customers are waiting, because ideally you have already told them that an app is coming soon. So it has to be quick. But it should still be high quality. A system built on modules is ideal for creating a high-quality app in a short time. You just have to work out which modules you absolutely need for the launch. What is the main job of your app? Should it keep your customers up to date at all times? Then add the News module, the RSS feed and the social media module. Should your customers be able to shop or make appointments in the app? Then add the shop or the appointment feature first. Do you want to use the app for mobile advertising? Then it is best to also switch on PushPlus and use the mobile voucher. We give you a concrete example further down in this article.

Tip: If you own a restaurant or a shop, don’t forget to enter your business address when setting up. The built-in map feature then guides your customers and prospects straight to you.
2. Design the app
When you set up your modules, choose rather understated colours that match your company colours, so as not to distract users from the content or the products. Remember to add your logo too – after all, the app is meant to strengthen your brand. Don’t overload the app. Keep the design simple and clear so that your app’s users quickly find their way around and are not overwhelmed by fussy elements. The new, clearly laid-out editor makes designing easier for you. What is more, all new apps come with the modern, clean flat design. The new design helps you make the app as efficient and clear as possible. If you create an About us page, don’t let the text get too long. Don’t get lost in details – usefulness, clarity and functionality must always stay in focus.
Tip: If you also want to use your app as a mobile website, switch on the smart redirect. Prospects who find you on their smartphone are then taken straight to the content of your app, and your offer is shown at its best.
3. Publishing and everything else
That’s it! You can now publish the app and have it made available in the Play Store and App Store. You simply set up more modules bit by bit, whenever you have time to spare. Activating them is quick, and you can use every new feature to remind your customers of your app and your business once again – for example with a post on Facebook. If you have any questions, our friendly customer support is happy to help, and here on our blog you will regularly find new tips and information on the modules and your app.

Here is a concrete example for a restaurant app:
We naturally recommend setting up the shop module, which then serves as your menu. There you can also add an ordering function. Also create an “About us” page, your opening hours and the contact form with your address. Once everything is set up, you can already publish the app. Later you can add further modules, such as the appointment feature, which can be used for table reservations.
Have fun creating your app! Do share your experience with us – we look forward to hearing from you!
