Why a mobile shop matters so much for business owners!

The mobile shop – the online shop that does more!

Two thirds of Germans like shopping online. The reasons are obvious: it is convenient and fast, easier to compare and there are no opening hours.

Don’t lose customers – become a multichannel retailer and sell on mobile too!

Online and offline purchases are more and more closely linked. The younger the potential buyer, the more channels they use and the more often they buy online. Today’s customer is a so-called multichannel shopper. A multichannel shopper behaves like this, for example:

They see a product or service in the daily paper or on TV and look online for more information on their smartphone or PC. There they also find the websites and apps of local shops. For further advice, multichannel shoppers like to go into a shop, and most purchases are still made locally, in shops – but a growing share of purchases is completed on the internet. So as not to lose customers here, it is essential for a business to show its goods or services online and on mobile as well. If the customer then opts for delivery, they track the delivery status on their smartphone – and this is where the app’s PushPlus notifications come in, automatically letting customers know their goods have been dispatched. If customers are in a hurry, they often order online and collect the goods themselves from the local branch.

Through the app into the shop. The modern multichannel shopper looks at several channels before buying.

How to win new customers with the mobile shop

Potential buyers search the internet for local shops that seem reliable, competent and professional to them. Value for money naturally matters just as much online as it does in a shop. Multichannel shoppers also want comprehensive information on offers and prices – and preferably lower prices than in the shop. If you keep this in mind and present yourself well online, you will draw new customers into your shop. So look after your mobile shop and promote it on every channel available. A customer who visits your shop in person or online will also buy other products that appeal to them. Let potential buyers check in your app which goods your shop has in stock, and offer, for example, to exchange goods bought on mobile in the shop.

The mobile shop – useful in many ways:

Have you already set up a mobile shop in your app? A mobile shop is both an asset and a necessity for every high-street shop and every service provider. We recognised this, which is why we offer our business owners a mobile shop as a module. The shop can do more than “just” sell goods such as clothing and household products. It can also be used, for example, as a menu with an ordering function, through which your customers order food for collection or delivery directly. One example is the app of Pizzeria David, which includes several mobile shops for its different branches.

Do you run a flower shop? Let your customers buy bouquets through the app. Or why not think about a flower delivery service? Do you run a club or offer services? Why not start an app campaign, for example, and simply list the donations or services as items in the shop? Our mobile shop makes all of this possible, without any extra fees on sales. What is more, like all AppConfector modules, it is quick and easy to set up.

Set up your shop – in just a few minutes:

Setting up the mobile shop takes just a few clicks. It is available from the Starter App upwards and, depending on your business’s needs, can be extended to a Premium or Enterprise shop. In the management area you will find the mobile shop under “More modules”. Just click and get started. You can sort your items into categories and, depending on your package, add product pictures and a detailed description. You can offer your customers several ways to pay: PayPal, invoice, cash on delivery and payment on collection are all available. Direct payment via PayPal is so far offered only by AppConfector. And we give you one more advantage here, because buying on invoice is the most popular option among online customers, followed by PayPal and direct debit. You can also set the currency and the shipping costs yourself, among other things. From the Enterprise package upwards, PushPlus can also be switched on for apps in the Play Store and App Store. Shipping confirmations for orders are then sent automatically, straight to your customers’ screens.
