On smart watches, invisible updates and other things

You either like them or you don’t. That’s how you might judge smartphones if you don’t have one yet. Either way, that applies to fewer and fewer people in Germany and everywhere else in the world. This small but mighty device is spreading faster than the average business owner thinks. People who quickly google something do it – well, you know – on their phone. Too bad when they then come across service providers who aren’t prepared for that at all and quickly scare them off again, for example with a page that doesn’t display properly.

And because that’s the way it is, we are proud of you, dear users, for leading by example with your businesses and reaching your existing and new customers on mobile in a more targeted way. So stay on the ball and don’t neglect your app. You will benefit from it all the more in future.

Project NG – a preview of the features

On invisible updates and what else is going on.

With Project NG we showed you where things are heading. For a system – and with it your app – to be ready for the future, it has to be modernised all the time. A lot has to happen behind the scenes before the first new features and visual changes can be seen. As you read these lines, our product development team is putting a lot of time into moving these necessary steps forward, so that in future we can give you more value from your app, and so for your users and customers.

That’s why we are already rolling out small and larger changes under the bonnet to all apps at regular intervals. This happens without you having to do anything and already lets your users, for example, start the app almost three times as fast, so they get to your products more quickly and open your app more often. On top of that, changes and new content are now transferred in an instant and shown straight away, without long reloading times, especially on a poor data connection. This and much more are the first visible signs of our project. So stay tuned for what comes next.

Swipe right and you’re back.

Skip the back button. Swipe and gone er, back.

The screens of modern smartphones keep getting bigger, but the thumb you use them with stays the same size. What do you do when the back button at the top left moves further and further away and getting around the app turns into finger gymnastics? Every iPhone and iPad user will know the problem by now. Spare yourself that from now on: a simple swipe to the right takes you from any area of the app to the one above it. That saves effort and nerves and makes your apps easier to use. Try it out.

Smart Push – PushPlus has now come to the app.

Ready for Smart Push? PushPlus has now come to the watch too.

A modern phone alone no longer makes people happy. Alongside it come smart TVs, intelligent car radios and so-called smartwatches. So that you can position your business and your app properly here too, the PushPlus notifications you send are now also shown there in the best possible form. On your users’ wrists, that makes for a short path to news, promotions and other important messages. With an active Enterprise package and your published app, you can get started right away. Watches from Apple and with Android Wear are supported. No extra activation is needed.

The AppCenter is an app too.

Now simply put your AppCenter on your PC or Mac as an app. Always at hand, and not just as a tablet app.

Do you always manage your app in an up-to-date version of Chrome? Then take a shortcut and simply save your access to the app as an app. Here’s how: open the management area in the browser, click the menu on the right with three lines – the hamburger menu – and there, under “More tools”, click “Add to taskbar”. Then simply confirm the dialogue box. From then on you’ll find an icon for the management area right on your taskbar. This way the management area starts as an app of its own, and not just on current tablet PCs.

Your app in minutes. Give it a try.
